Fiscal Note Summary

Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.

This bill has no revenue impact on the PSC. The Public Service Commission (PSC) does not have jurisdiction to regulate broadband. Because of this, it will be difficult for the PSC to collect the information required in SB143. We estimate, based on past experience with similar type projects, that a consultant or contractor will have to be hired to conduct an annual study to determine the information required by SB143.
