The WVDOC is unable to predict how many additional offenders would be sentenced to prison terms if the proposed legislation is adopted. However, for each additional offender sentenced under the law the State could expect a cost of at least $24,266 – $72,798 (based on FY10 average cost per offender of $24,266 x three years maximum sentence).
