A New Program
Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The purpose of this bill is to require the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services to use existing department funds to develop a program to compensate employees for personal property loss in work related incidents.
The available cost figures come from actual claims by Bureau for Behavioral Health & Health Facilities direct patient care staff with a maximum amount of $250 per incident. As the bill is currently written all DHHR employees would now be eligible for this reimbursement. It is still anticipated that all claims can be handled at current budget level and would not exceed $10,000.00 for all bureaus if the maximum per incident remained at $250.
