The WVDOC cannot predict how many offenders would be convicted and sentenced as a result of the proposed legislation. However, for every new offender to be committed to WVDOC custody the State could expect costs of up to $48,532 per offender ($24,266 average cost per offender in FY2010 x a 2 year sentence).
