Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The purpose of this bill is to create a compulsory comprehensive health screening for students entering public school for the first time in this state and students entering third grade, sixth grade and ninth grade.
The WV Public Employees Insurance Agency has an exposure of approximately 8,446 dependent children in the relative grade classifications. There were 3,117 that incurred charges for comprehensive examinations. Assuming the remaining 5,329 had received screening the WV Public Employees Insurance Agency would have potential additional cost of $440,155.00.
