Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):
Estimate is based on private counsel billings; dollars paid to court reporters are used since pages produced are not recorded. It is assumed that the amounts paid from 1 July 2009 through 31 December 2009 will be the amounts paid for FY 2011 since PDS paid an entire year of vouchers in the first six months of FY 2010.
It is further assumed that one original and one copy are produced in most cases. The average of the current costs per page is divided into the total dollars paid to determine the estimated total number of pages currently charged. The increase per page is then allocated one half for origianls, one half for copies.
Finally, it is assumed that an equivalent number of pages will be produced for Public Denfeders.
