Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The passage of this bill would have a positive effect on the collection of court fees that fund the bonds for the construction of the jails. The extent to which this would have a positive effect would be directly affected by the number of persons convicted of this offence and therefore would not be known until the law would be in effect. Also, this bill would require counties to pay jail fees for the entire sentence of anyone convicted of these offences. Also, more jailable offences will add to the overcrowding problem in the jails.
