Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):
The purpose of this bill is to provide a statutory framework through which the Legislature may appropriate funds to supplement the programs for students with limited English proficiency (LEP) and those learning English as a second language in accordance with policies and procedures adopted by the State Board.
The cost of this proposal is equal to the amount of monies the Legislature chooses to appropriate.
