Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
This bill designates December 7 of each year as “West Virginia Patriots of World War II Day” and makes it a state holiday. This would be a day for which State government employees would be paid without performing any services for the State.
The earliest date this could be in effect is in FY 2010, so thee is no cost for FY 2009.

Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):
The estimated total cost includes the cost of one day of pay for all filled FTE positions as of 1/31/09 plus matching benefits (shown as "Other") of 15.65% for higher education and 20% for other agencies. The matching benefits include: for higher education, 2% for Workers Compensation, 7.65% for FICA and Medicare, and 6% for retirement match; for all other agencies, 1.85% for Workers Compenstions, 7.65% for FICA and Medicare, and 10.5% for PERS.
