Based upon our research, this proposed legislation would affect 286 troopers residing in 13 counties: Berkeley, Cabell, Hancock, Harrison, Jefferson, Kanawha, Monongalia, Morgan, Ohio, Pleasants, Putnam, Raleigh and Wood.

According to the U. S. Census Bureau's 2000 census (updated 2005), 13 counties have a median monthly homeowner costs that exceeds $700 per month. We presently have 286 troopers from a total of 667 living in these 13 counties.
