This piece of legislation proposes to modify the way that DNA is maintained for law enforcement purposes in West Virginia. Based on known variables and indictment projections, it is estimated that the cost to implement and maintain these modifications is $283,337.

This estimate includes funding for one additional Forensic Technician position with benefits at $67,703 and current expense funds totaling $215,634 for collection kits and consumable lab supplies.
