The State Board of Education’s budget is limited to one executive secretary employee to assist with the functions of the board. All programs, duties, etc. are delegated to the West Virginia Department of Education (WVDE). This legislation, in its current form, will have fiscal impact on the WVDE in the amount of $267,290.00 annually.

This legislation, in its current form, will have a fiscal impact on the WVDE in the amount of $267,290 annually. The WVDE estimates that it will need to hire three (3) employees to handle the duties shifted from the various county boards of education to the State Board of Education as required in §18-5G-3(m).
