This legislation, in its current form, does not have any impact on the WVDE. However, if enacted, it will have fiscal impact on the various county boards of education. As of October 1, 2023, there were 38,412 full-time professional and support employees statewide not including substitutes, volunteers, etc. The current cost of a drug test being utilized by one county board of education is $37.25.
