Legislation creates:

Decreases Existing Revenue, Increases Existing Expenses

Fiscal Note Summary

Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.

Is there a plan for providing additional funding for the volunteer fire service through an additional line item. If there is not additional funding provided, this would have significant negative impact without a increase or revenue added to the State Fire Commission/State Fire Marshal's Office since our current operating budget is only supported by Special Revenue that does not include funding for any fire departments. A funding source would need to be provided such as revenue added to the fire protection fund or funding added to the Volunteer Fire Service Equipment and Training fund. All other funding the State Fire Commission and the State Fire Marshal's Office operates with is for operational purposes of the State Fire Commission/State Fire Marshal's Office for Fire Investigations, Fire Plans Review and Fire Inspections, and Licensing and Regulatory pertaining to licensing, certification, and permits for the following including but not limited to Electricians, Blasters, Pyrotechnicians, Building Code Officials, Building Inspectors, and Home Inspectors.
