The stated purpose of this bill is to create an exemption from certain municipal service fees assessed under §8-13-13. According to our interpretation, this bill will result in a decrease in municipal revenue.
The estimated decrease resulting from this proposal on revenue generated by any specific type of municipal service fee imposed under “§8-13-13. Special charges for municipal services”, cannot be accurately determined. The total amount budgeted for all cities in municipal budget line 341 “Municipal Service Fees” for fiscal year 2023-2024 is $27,397,217.
