Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The purpose of this bill is to require companies provide health care benefits to their employees in order to claim the Economic Opportunity Tax Credit. The West Virginia Development Office does not issue these tax credits and has no role in determining whether a company qualifies for this credit or not. Therfore we feel the fiscal impacts of this legislation should be addressed by the Tax Department.
