Memorandum
House Bill 5527, if enacted, relates to the authorization of wellness reimbursement plans that are self-insured medical plans or wellness integrated medical plan expense reimbursement plans to be licensed in this state by the Insurance Commissioner.
Based on the regulatory oversight functions outlined in HB5527, the OIC estimates that an additional staff member will be required to carry out the responsibilities specified in the bill. However, it is expected that any required staffing needs will be met through attrition and the reassignment of current vacancies.
