Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
This amendment for HB2737 requires the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission (HEPC) to establish the Higher Education Health and Aid Grant Program to address food insecurity among students enrolled in public institutions of higher education and explore grant funding opportunities. It also establishes the grant criteria, entities' responsibilities and reporting requirements. Since the bill would allow private grants to fund the program, the need for state appropriations is not anticipated.
