Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
This bill requires the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission (HEPC) to establish the Higher Education Health and Aid Grant Program to address food insecurity among students enrolled in public institutions of higher education. It also establishes the grant criteria, entities' responsibilities and reporting requirements. The bill was heavily revised during a committee meeting. Therefore, any estimated cost associated with this version would be deemed not applicable. HEPC will provide the appropriate estimated cost in the committee substitute fiscal note when received.
