There is no full proof way to estimate the actual costs, but we will utilize the information we have to make an educated estimate.
Facts / Assumptions (Legislative Rules Will Of Course Guide the Program If The Bill Becomes Law)
There are currently about 5,000 certified officers in WV and Jess Gundy guesses about half or 2.500 would pursue additional education leading to a new certification or degree.
The annual average WV College Tuition and Fees is roughly $8,500
A lifetime cap is placed on how much an officer can receive in this program of $8,500
Officer receives reimbursement before he or she actually receives the degree
All officers that apply to the program are approved

Year 3 250 officers x 8,500 $ 2,125,000
