Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):
The Board currently licenses and registers dentists who practice teledentistry. We do not expect an influx of new applicants due to this bill. It is more of a regulatory consumer protection related piece of legislation.
Memorandum
This bill should not cause an influx of applicants or registrants to West Virginia as we already license and register dentists who provide teledentistry services. It will create a standard of care and consumer protection aspect of the regulation of teledentistry.
