The purpose of this proposed legislation is to create the "Hunger-Free Campus Act," which requires the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission to establish a grant program to address food insecurity among students enrolled in public institutions of higher education. The bill would require institutions of higher education designated as a hunger-free campus to use existing resources to establish food pantries and campus meal plan sharing programs.
