Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):


The above cost of $7344 is the current amount it would cost the agency to add the locality pay to employees in listed in the OPM locality counties. This cost could increase based on compensation increases for employees as the percentage would need to be applied to future pay increases. This increase will drive up additional employer premiums like PEIA and PERS retirement.



Memorandum


There are additional fiscal factors in this bill that could impact our office. Pay inequity could arise within our agency, especially for employees performing the same work but receiving different pay. Additionally, the added expenses of maintaining other locations, coupled with salary increases, may strain the office budget. We might need to assess the efficiencies of continuing to operate additional office locations in the future.
