The purpose of this bill is to prohibit public entities, including state, county and municipal buildings and facilities, places of public accommodation and commercial facilities, from installing or maintaining a parking meter in an accessible parking space bearing the international symbol of access.

Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):
If this legislation passes and accessible parking becomes cost-free, annual parking revenue at the Capitol Complex would decrease by approximately $14,160. The Parking Section would need to carefully consider the impact and may be forced to consider requesting an increase in the parking meter fee. The parking meter fees have been flat at $0.50 per hour since the rate was set in rule beginning in 2003.
