Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The purpose of this bill is to require the Bureau of Medical Services to conduct a biennial capitation rate review.
Based on an estimate from the current MCO Actuarial/Oversight vendor, we project a total increase in expense of $205,000 (50% state = $102,500/50% federal = $102,500).
This bill would reduce the frequency with which the Bureau of Medical Services must complete the capitation rate review. However, previously, this mandate has not been funded. The calculations reflected in the Fiscal Note would properly fund this mandate.
