Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The purpose of this bill is to require the State Fire Commission and the Commissioner of the Bureau for Public Health, respectively, to fund volunteer fire departments and emergency medical services units for any increased costs or expenditures that result from the implementation of a state legislative rule.
There is no direct cost because this is referring to future laws/rules. Any future increased costs or expenditures to the Department that result from the implementation of a legislative rule would have a fiscal impact up to the amount necessary to implement the specific legislative rule. Any unfunded/unappropriated legislative rule would be unable to be funded by the Department.
