The Department anticipates there would be a fiscal impact of $281,000, with a state/federal share of 25.875%/74.125% (state = $72,709/federal = $208,291) as a result of this legislation.

Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):
Projected annual increased cost to BMS is $281,000 (state = $72,709/federal = $208,291).
An increase in oral contraceptives expenditures of 10% (SFY24 oral contraceptives expenditures = $2.8M) is being projected based on experience with medications being lost/stolen and overall changes in therapy. In addition, technology systems updates are projected at $1,000.
Fiscal impact = $2.8M*10% + $1,000 = $281,000.
