Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The purpose of this bill is to allow and regulate the operation of roadable aircraft on West Virginia highways.
The Division will incur programming costs for the cash register of approximately $5,625.00. Additionally, the Division projects a cost per registration plate of $5.00. This cost would be on a per plate basis thus total cost would depend on the volume of transactions.
The bill also sets the annual registration fee at $60.00 per vehicle, with an additional $15.00 annual fee. This produces total annual fees of $75.00 ($60.00 + $15).
This fiscal note assumes the registration of one vehicle.
The revenue stated above is based upon volume of transactions. Due to the emerging nature of the roadable airplane market, the Division does not have a basis for estimating the volume.
