This piece of legislation would allow more individuals an opportunity to seek an expungement. This would require additional staffing in the Criminal Records section of the West Virginia State Police at a cost of approximately $133,539 in order to process the additional caseload.

The above fiscal detail consists of the cost of two office assistants and one fingerprint technician with the appropriate workstations.
The increase in revenue due to the additional requests is unknown.

There is not a direct correlation between number of requests and revenue received since it is commonplace for fees to be waived at the Circuit Court level.
