Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The purpose of this bill relates to the suspension of licenses for failure to respond or appear in court when charged with a motor vehicle violation. The bill requires written notice of all fees owed and impending suspension prior to license suspension; and requires the citation issuing magistrate court or municipal court to forward administrative fee collected to the division.
The Division estimates it will take 25 hours of programming on the MVSU letter creating program at $62 per hour and 5 hours of programming on the disclosure letter at $60 per hour. Total current expense of $1,850 (25 hrs. X $62/hr + 5 hrs. X $60/hr.)
