Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The purpose of this bill relates to registration plates generally. The bill authorizes special registration plates; establishes fees; and reorganizes the operative code provision for ease of administration.
The legislation also creates a special registration plate for the judges of the Intermediate Court of Appeals. The legislation establishes a $15 annual fee for this plate in addition to all other fees required.
Division estimates that programming costs for the cash register of $2,990 (26 hrs. X 115/hr.). The average cost of similar plates is $3.10 ($6.05 special plate - $2.95 Class A) more than the standard Class A plate. There are three judges of the Intermediate Court of Appeals Producing an increased plate cost of $9.30 ($3.10 X 3). Total first year expense is $2,999 ($2,990 + $9).
The bill establishes a $15 annual fee which produces revenue of $45 ($15 X 3).
