Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
This bill adopts the Uniform Act on Prevention and Remedies for Human Trafficking by creating a Commission on the Prevention of Human Trafficking. It requires the Division of Highways to display signs containing the National Human Trafficking Resource Center hotline in every transportation station, rest area, and welcome center open to the public. It makes services available to eligible victims. It requires the state agencies represented on the commission to provide staff for the commission.
The Department of Administration does not have the data to determine the fiscal impact to the State. I recommend that fiscal note requests be sent to the Department of Military Affairs and Public Safety and to the Department of Transportation, Division of Highways.
