Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
| House Bill 2235 proposes to increase the salaries for magistrate court clerks, magistrate assistants and deputy magistrate court clerks.
Raise #1 in the amount of $5,004 would apply to the total of the three (3) groups (275 people). The effective date of this increase is assumed to be July 1, 2005. Raise #2 in the amount of $3,000 would apply only to magistrate assistants and deputy magistrate clerks (220 people). The effective date of this increase would be January 1, 2006. Raise #3 in the amount of $3,000 would apply only to magistrate court clerks (55 people). The effective date of this increase would be July 1, 2006. For FY 2006 Raises #1 and #2 would apply. This the total for FY 2006 would be $2,038,961. The going forward annual cost would be $2,433,344, a higher amount since Raise #2 would only be in effect for six (6) months. For FY 2007 Raise #3 would apply. The total annual cost of Raise #3 would be $197,192. The total going forward annual cost of Raises # 1,2, and 3 would be $2,630,536. All amounts include employer benefits. See attachment for cost of each Raise #1,2, and 3. |
