Fiscal Note Summary

Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.

The proposed bill would have no impact on state funds since the cost of the service weapon would be a cost of the local municipal government. We could not estimate a total cost to the municipality because we do not know how many municipalities have police departments that belong to PERS or participate in their own private retirement system in order to estimate the number of retirements per year.
