Fiscal Note Summary

Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.

The proposed bill has no impact on costs and revenues to state government, however, it does impact county expenditures. Due to the fact that the property tax collection rate for all 55 counties varies so greatly, it is not easy to determine the impact of the proposed bill on county governments. A review of the county budgets for FY-2005 indicates that 32 counties do not reach the current cap of $15,000 for Sheriff's commission.
