Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.


This proposed legislation will cost the State of West Virginia approximately $786,210 the first year which includes retroactive longevity increases for existing troopers who will have a minimum of two years of service in FY 2015 as set forth in 15-2-5e. The estimate for the year of full implementation is $81,053 which covers the additional $100/year increase on longevity payments.

Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):


Calculations for longevity were based on actual and projected membership for year one and for all 698 funded uniformed positions for year of full implementation.



Memorandum


West Virginia State Police Improvement #10 as presented in the Governor's Recommended Budget contains the $400 longevity request for Uniformed members for FY2015 and should not be offset should this piece of legislation pass.
