Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The purpose of this bill is to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated ยง18-5-18f, relating to county boards of education; licensed school psychologists; and providing that the maximum licensed school psychologist pupil ratio is fifteen hundred pupils for each licensed school psychologist.

Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):
There is no additional cost to the State for this proposed legislation since the allowances under the Public School Support Program are not being increased.
The estimated cost to the county boards of education for the proposed legislation is $5,575,386. This includes the salary and fringe benefit costs for an additional 74.57 school psychologists that would need to be hired to be in compliance with the 1500:1 ratio in all county boards of education.
