A Bill to amend and reenact Chapter 20-7-1a and 20-7-1c of the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, all relating to providing an increase in compensation for natural resources police officers. FUNDING IS REQUESTED TO BE FROM GENERAL REVENUE Listed below are estimates for Salary and Employee Benefits funding increase amounts required for FY 2014 in excess of the current FY 2013 amount if legislation is passed. FY 2014 Salary Increase Per Year $543,529 Employee Benefits @ 27% 146,753 Total Salary Increase FY 2014 $690,282 Longevity Increase Per Year $321,000 Employee Benefits @ 27% 86,670 Total Longevity Increase FY 2014 $407,670 Total Salary and Longevity FY 2014 $1,097,952 Listed below are estimates for Salary and Employee Benefits funding increase amounts required for FY 2015 in excess of the current FY 2013 amount if legislation is passed. FY 2015 Salary Increase Per Year $561,697 Employee Benefits @ 27% 151,658 Total Salary Increase FY 2015 $713,355 Longevity Increase Per Year $652,800 Employee Benefits @ 27% 176,256 Total Longevity Increase FY 2015 $829,056 Total Salary and Longevity FY 2015 $1,542,411 Annual additional costs over and above the current Fiscal Year 2013 if this legislation is passed are as follows: FY 2014 $1,097,952 FY 2015 $1,542,411 Additional annual appropriation funding of longevity costs would be necessary because increases in longevity pay continue to as officers attain additional years of service. .
