The purpose of this bill is to extend the Teachers' State Minimum Salary Schedule and equity supplements from thirty-five to forty years.

Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):


The estimated cost to the State for the proposed legislation is $2,803,592. This cost estimate includes the increases in Step 1 (salaries), Step 3 (fixed costs), Step 6 (current expense/substitutes) and retirement for state aid funded employees with 36 or more years of experience. The estimated cost to the County Boards of Education for the proposed legislation is an additional $464,095. This cost estimate includes the increased salary, fixed cost, and retirement for both employees with 36 or more years of experience who are funded through sources other than state aid and for the extended contract terms of all employees with 36 years or more of experience.
