Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The stated purpose of this bill is to increase from five days to fifteen business days the amount of time in which a petition may be filed after a property owner receives notice of an increased assessment of real property.
This bill allows a taxpayer additional time to file a petition for review after the taxpayer has received a notice of an increased assessment of real property. There will be no revenue impact associated with passage of this bill.
There will be no additional costs for the State Tax Department. A minimal increase in administrative costs to local governments may occur if the additonal time allowed results in more petitions being filed.
