Legislation creates:Neither Program nor Fund
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
| The purpose of this bill is to provide that neither the state nor any county may reimburse any person or entity for transporting any person to schedule, arrange or procure an abortion.
The fiscal impact to the Department's Bureau for Medical Services cannot be determined with the information available (see Memorandum section).
|Effect of Proposal||Fiscal Year|
|1. Estmated Total Cost||0||0||0|
|Repairs and Alterations||0||0||0|
|2. Estimated Total Revenues||0||0||0|
3. Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):
| Although non-emergency transportation (NEMT) is a covered service of the Medicaid program, and abortions are paid for with state funds, it is not possible to determine, with the data available, what NEMT services that have been paid were to transport an individual related to an abortion service. Based on the way providers bill for these services, there is not a reliable method to estimate the amount of fiscal impact that would result from the proposed legislation.
