    The purpose of this legislation is to require a jobs impact statement be completed by the Development Office on certain proposed legislation which may cause an impact on the State's economy. These impact statements may be requested by the Governor or the presiding officer of either house of the Legislature .

Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):


    The above cost estimate is based on the costs of adding two additional staff to our Research Unit to coordinate and prepare these inpact statements . The costs listed under current expense are to cover the costs of research materials to support this staff as well as to employ outside consultants necessary to properly complete these statements.
