Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
| The purpose of this bill is to allow the temporary reassignment of an injured or ill service person who is unable to perform the duties of his/her regular job classification to another job classification. The employee would receive the same compensation and benefits as he/she would have received in his/her regular classification. The temporary assignment must be the result of a work related illness or injury, is limited to one calendar year, and does not create a vacancy requiring posting. The service person must not be discouraged nor prohibited from returning to his/her regular position on a light duty basis. Temporary reassignments meeting these conditions are permitted but not required. |

3. Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):
Because the temporary assignments are permitted at the discretion of the county board, but are not required, there would be very minimal impact on county boards of education. |
