| The purpose of Senate Bill 98 is to create the Shale Research, Education, Policy and Economic Development Center at West Virginia University. It is estimated that the cost of this program will be $250,000 per year over a four year period for a total cost of
$1 million. The estimated annual cost for faculty and staff is $200,000 per year. Additional annual costs for current expenses are expected to be $50,000. No State appropriations are needed for this program. West Virginia University will fund the program from its resources.
