The purpose of this bill is to make english the official language of West Virginia. Although West Virginia may not have a law that makes english the official language, english is the language that is most widely used. Therefore, there should be no fiscal impact with the passage of the bill.

This bill could potentially save money as it clarifies that no state agency or political subdivision is required to provide any documents, information, literature or other written materials in any language other than english. If they had been required to provide in another language it could have created additional costs.
