Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The purpose of this bill is to embed College and Career Readiness standards throughout the curriculum and hold schools accountable for meeting those standards. These provisions include staff development for teachers, training for pre-service teachers, course offerings, as well as assessments.

Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):
Professional Development for teachers of transition courses - $120,000 ($60,000 for ELA and $60,000 for mathematics) - first year.
Professional Development for teachers of transition courses - $60,000 ($30,000 for ELA and $30,000 for mathematics) - recurring after first year.
Administration of ACT Compass to students in transition courses - $28,000 annually.
There may be costs to Institutions of Higher Education for the training of pre-service teachers. That cost is not reflected in this fiscal note.
