Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The purpose of bill HB4548 is to authorize County Commissions to designate a local funeral home or EMS to transport bodies when a postmortem examination is required.
The Departrment of Health and Human Resources does not expect a fiscal impact to result from the proposed legislation. Currently, the Department's Office of the Chief Medical Examiner pays a set fee for body transports, as authorized in West Virginia Code 61-12-10a, regardless of the entity providing the body transport.
