Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):
Memorandum
There will be no increase to the expenses of the Legislature to create a new House of Delegates district. Work would be conducted by the Redistricting Division of the Joint Committee on Government and Finance, and would fall within the staff's normal job duties, and normal office expenses.
The fiscal note does not take into account that the new delegate may claim higher expenses than the current delegate. At this time, this would be impossible to calculate.
