Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.

    The purpose of this legislation is to revise the County Economic Opportunity Development District Act to include as allowable project costs up to 25% of the costs of remediation of landfills,former coal min sites, solid waste facilities or hazardous waste sites.We are unable to assess the impact of this legislation on current agency operations because we have not received any applications to date to create any of these Districts under the current Act.

    Although we did not submit any estimated costs for this legislation to the Development Office, if a number of applications to create these Districts were submiited to this office, we might need an additional staff person to handle the work . The estimated cost of this person ,including support costs, would be $100,000.
