Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.

    This measure will essentially have little or no impact on costs and revenues of state government. The legislation will simply establish different penalties for escaping from a Juvenile Services facility. The reality is that less than five escapes happen totally for any year. During 2010 we had three escapes two of which were handled internally and only one that was placed in the Regional Jail for up to six months. We are just wanting the courts to have the leeway to handle the escapee in a more suitable manner.
